Application

Application rates vary depending on soil type, acid levels and type of crop.

Recent trials on sandy soil have shown that at a depth of 2-3 cm, an application of 248kg of Calcifert per hectare increased pH by an average of 0.9 within four weeks. After four months, at depths between 2-15 cm, there was an average pH increase of 0.6.

Spreader rates

Independent tests have shown that Calcifert granulated lime can be accurately spread at 36 metre bout widths. Trials with a range of leading fertiliser spreaders, including the Amazone ZA-M, the Kuhn Axis, the KRM Ex trend and the Vicon RSXL, have shown that Calcifert spread to 36 metres has a Co-efficient of Variance of less than 3.7%.
