Why should I buy
Calcifert instead of conventional lime?
Calcifert has many benefits over conventional lime:
- Calcifert doesn't need to be spread by specialist contractors,
it can be applied using your own fertiliser spreading equipment,
and it can be spread at the same time as other fertilisers.
- Calcifert granules are made of fine limestone flour combined
with an organic binder - this means they break down quicker than
conventional lime and their regular size and shape ensures even
spread.
- Calcifert creates significantly less dust than conventional
lime.
- Lower application rates than conventional lime mean that
Calcifert is a cost effective alternative.
- Calcifert can be applied to bare ground, or to all types of
growing crops and grass, unlike conventional lime.
How much do I
apply?
Calcifert application rates are lower than conventional lime
making it a cost-effective alternative. How much you apply
will depend on your soil type, acid levels and crop. Please
contact us for more guidance on specific rates.
When is the best time to
apply Calcifert?
Calcifert can be applied all year round. Applying
Calcifert before wet weather will increase the speed at which is
reacts with the soil.
How soon after spreading
can I put animals back to graze?
Animals can be put back to graze on treated land
